Main points of the story

A cab driver who picked his passenger (an elderly woman) through the night. She wanted to hospice in downtown. She was living alone and doctor said she also doesn’t have very long.

 

The driver give her respect and treated her as best as he could, even when they were arrived in her destination he won’t take any tip she gave him and hug her.

Main points of the story

One day, there was a man who depressed with is life. He decided to quit his job, relation, and spiritual, he willing to end his life.

 

He went to the forest and talking to a God; why should he lived? The God responded by illustrating the purpose of life with a Fern, and a Bamboo.

 

The man realized that every creation that God made have their own time to rise. He decided to continue his life, and trying to never give up with the situation.

Don’t compare yourself to others, every human has its own time to rise, and just remember: God would not give any of his creations a challenge it could not handle.

Main points of the story

A father who teach his son to keep his bad temper. He told his son to hammer a nail on a fence every time he lost his temper.

 

The first day, he hammer 37 nails on the fence, the next few weeks he was able to control his temper and the nail hammer is gradually down, until the day he finally control his temper.

 

His father told him to pull out the nails off the fence and then he said that the fence will never be the same. “When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry. The wound is still there."

Try to control your temper, do not bad mouthing someone because when you say something in anger, you’ll leave a scar on someone’ heart.

A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.

A couple boy and girl exchange each other something that they kept the most. The boy gave her marbles but he didn’t gave her all, while the girl gave him her all sweets symbolized as trust and love.

A father and his son go to the temple for praying, his son feared to the lion statutes there but his father said “it just a statutes, it won’t harm us”. His children reply “If those lion statues won’t harm us then how could statues of God give us blessings.”

Amy's school needed to have a fundraiser so they could earn money to buy more computers. Amy knew that many of her classmates' families were from different countries around the world. She suggested that every student could bring in their favorite dish and hold an ethnic dinner night. She knew parents and members of the community would be glad to pay money in order to try foods from all over the world!

Main points of the story

Tenali who wants to help his wife from an out of control bullock cart which came rushing from behind. He pulls his wife toward himself in effort to save her, but they falls into a pit along the road. His wife angered because the dress she wear is dirty, but Tenali responded with a cool mind “Well, it’s time to buy a new dress then” (as he smiles to himself thanking God that she is safe)!

If I have to choose my favorite characters among those stories, I would like to choose a school boy, and a cab driver (A good boy, Last journey). Because they give a respect and help elderly.
